D.O.I. - BAND HISTORY

* September 2002- Band starts.  The lineup was:  Tom:  vocals, Drew:  drums, Duffy:  guitar, and Charlie:  bass.  In the next few weeks Duffy gradually phased out of the picture.  Then it was Drew:  drums, Charlie:  bass, and Tom: vocals.  This lasted for about 6 months until Tom learned guitar and became the guitarist.

* January 3, 2003-  Drew throws a house party.  We got Freedom's Slave to play, but their drummer who lives 2 hours away unexpectedly couldn’t make it because of bad roads.  They played unplugged.  They played well but weren't well received.  We tried playing too.  We weren't ready to play at all.  We got through a cover of NOFX's "Murder the Government", but we didn’t play any other full songs and we weren't a full band yet, so it was a jam.  Side Deffect (later known as The Defective, now Mundo Rojo) also played.

* March 2003-  Tom becomes the band's guitarist for about 10 months.

* September 2003-  We meet Kevin.  He moved here from California.

* December 27, 2003-  Drew's dad throws a Christmas party and we played The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" with Drew's dad singing.  Then we played "Shut Your Corncake".  We received a warm reception, except from this one drunken lady who came up to us later and told us, "You guys sucked".  Later that night, Tom beat her racist son with a shoe on the front lawn for randomly punching him in the nuts.

* Mid January 2004-  Tom and Drew join Albert's band.  The only practice we went to, we decided to merge the bands.  This didn’t work out and we left the band.  He later named it P.I.E. (Political Issue Entertainment) and soon it broke up.

* Late January 2004-  Kevin joins the band as our new guitarist.  We immediately notice major improvement.  Just what we were looking for.

* February 27, 2004-  We made business cards to hand out at the Goshen Fire Hall show. The top of the cards read "(NO NAME YET)".

* February 29, 2004-  We receive an offer from Mystic Records to appear on the compilation "Party or Go Home".  We needed to get a 60 second song in by April.  We jumped up and down about this but eventually had to pass.  We weren't ready yet.

* March 1, 2004-  Tom puts up the band's first website.  It was very poorly done.  Not having a name yet, the heading read "We Need a Band Name".  The next day, our friend Steve makes the new band website.  It was a lot better.  We still didn't have a band name yet, so the heading of the page read "Brain Atrophy (tentative name)".  That was an idea for a name that we had been throwing around for a while.

* March 4, 2004-  We finally named the band "Deep Throat".  That night, Albert and Artie filled in for Kevin at practice.  Artie taped some of it for his school video project.  The next day, Charlie performed a song with Albert and Artie at school that we practiced this night.

* March 9, 2004- We scrapped our band name. It just wasn't right.

* March 20, 2004- First show ever! We played with Reprover, Thoughts of Yesterday and Man Down in Dan of Reprover's abandoned house he had on his property. There were 2  hours we had between setting up and the show starting so Tom rapped "Psycho" and "Put Another Clown In The White House" while we were waiting. We also named our band DOI right before the show. The flyers for the show listed us still as Deep Throat.

* April 27, 2004-  Kevin is kicked out of the band. No hard feelings.
